TILES OF IQUITOS

I’m (finally) working with several photos from my past trips to Iquitos, Peru to assemble a giant mural of the most spectacular ceramic tiles from this amazing Amazonian town. Nestled deep in the Peruvian jungle and accessible only by air and boat, it’s by far one of the most magical places in the country (and probably the most overlooked). The rubber boom of the early 20th-century attracted many European immigrants; they contributed to a period of great wealth resulting in the unique urban and cultural identity of the city. The plan is to create a massive wall collage of the different ceramic tiles and then print it large format at a 1:1 ratio. It will (unofficially) be used as wallpaper on some of the more bland concrete walls in the capital city of Lima. Bringing the charm of the jungle to the capital!
